Publika Hungarian Library Group was established in 2001.
Library information experts, as founding members of, established this professional partnership in order to provide institutional background for those who wish to work for common aims and would like to take an active part in development programmes, both nationally and internationally.
Publika MKK aims to:
- provide practical support for innovative activities in Hungarian libraries.
- join international projects that further co-operation among public libraries, museums and archives.
- provide help for Hungarian public libraries in preparing their applications for national and international tenders, to give assistance in adapting international practice and in setting up exemplary services.
- arrange training and in-service training programmes, organise conferences, workshops and study trips.
Publika MKK is a nonprofit organisation, consists of individual and institutional supporting members who agree on the statutes and go along with the objectives of the association.
